Death of Mrs. J. H. Thompson

The death of Mrs. J. H. Thompson occurred Monday evening at eight o’clock. She had been a sufferer for several months and for weeks all hope of her recovery had been abandoned. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson are among our oldest citizens, coming in an early day and living here continuously excepting a couple of years in Des Moines prior to something like a year ago.

Mrs. Thompson was born January 22, 1834, and was married September 15th, 1859, at Carthage, Ill. To them were born three children, Ed. E., Lida H. and Eva May. The first two survive the deceased while the latter died in 1873 at the age of three years. She leaves her aged husband, who is in poor health and the son and daughter who have faithfully attended her during her long sickness. The estimable family was one of the best known and best loved in our city and its breaking causes the deepest grief.
