On last Friday evening in his home at Pitzer, occurred the death of Joseph K. Miller, after several weeks of painful suffering from cancer of the stomach. The deceased was born in Holmes county, Ohio, September 24, 1844, from which state he came to Illinois in 1852, residing there until he removed to his present home in 1896.

He leaves a wife and three children, William and Walter residing at home and Mrs. J. J. Earp of Winterset. The funeral occurred on Monday from the Pitzer U. P. church of which the deceased was a member, the interment taking place at the Penn Center cemetery.

Through all his suffering he was very patient and when death was near expressed his readiness and desire to go. To those who mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father we extend our sincere sympathy in this their sad bereavement.

Pitzer

Mr. J. K. Miller, who for several weeks has been an intense sufferer from cancer of the stomach, entered into rest and the life more abundant Friday at 7 p.m. Funeral services at the U.P. church on Monday with interment in the Penn Center cemetery.

Mr. Miller was a man who counted a vast number in his circle of friends, was a quiet, unassuming genial friend and neighbor. We will miss his friendly greeting. To the family we extend our sympathy in this, the darkest hour in their lives.
