Jackson A. Bishop, whose death was mentioned last week, was born in Medina Co., Ohio, May 3, 1835. At the age of twenty-one he moved with his parents to Rock Island, Illinois. On the 17th of August, 1862, he was married to Harriet Louise Lawson. To them were born six children, Hattie, Anna, Delia, Rensellaer, Wm., and Charles.
In 1871, he moved to Winterset, Iowa, where he resided until his death. For twenty-eight years Mr. Bishop has been an invalid. On August 29, after a five week's illness he was called to rest. He leaves to mourn his loss, a wife, two daughters, two sons, and an only sister, Mrs. Julia A. Merrill.
