Roger Allen Picken was born Oct. 7, 1929, and died Nov. 18, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Picken and Ethel Porter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Beverly; a brother, Gilbert (Joyce) Picken of Fairmont, Minn.; children: Deborah (Mark) Covert, John (Sue) Picken, Dennis (Mary) Picken, all of Omaha; grandchildren: Edwin (Hope) Covert, Jacob Covert, Abigail Covert, Darcy Covert, William Roger Picken; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and special friends, Deb and Tim Duggan.
Private services were held. The family received relatives and friends on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 22, at the family home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Omaha Public Library Foundation.
Arrangements were handled by Heafey-Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler West Center Chapel in Omaha, Neb.
