HUGH DELOS McDONALD

Hugh Delos McDonald was born in Madison county, Iowa, in Douglas township, on the 7th day of January 1884. Died in Winterset, March 30th, 1906, at the age of 22 years, 2 months and 23 days.

His mother was called to her reward October 26, 1891. His father died January 17, 1899. Hugh and a younger sister were left at an early age without a mother's care and a few years later their father was taken from them.

At about the age of 12 Hugh was stricken with a fever which left him a cripple the remainder of his life. His great desire was to live until he could see his sister, which was not gratified him.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Fred Berry at the Baptist church and his body was laid away in the McDonald cemetery.
