Mrs. May Myers of Truro, a lifetime resident of the St. Charles and Truro area, died at the Clarke County Public Hospital last Friday October 25, 1974. She was 84 years of age.
Mrs. Myers was born in Warren County near St. Charles on April 1, 1890, the daughter of Jefferson and Isabelle Williamson Shutt. She was married to Leo Myers at her parents' home near St. Charles on December 31, 1908.
Mrs. Myers was a member of the United Methodist Church at Truro, and was active in that church's Bible study group.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Myers of Truro; and three daughters: Mrs. Robert (Isabelle) DeBoer of Owasso, Oklahoma; Mrs. Ross (Laura) Goodrich of Osceola; and Mrs. Orville (Evelyn) Fitzgerald of Truro. Also surviving are one daughter-in-law, 13 grandchildren, and 30 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; by one son, Roy, by two grandchildren; and six brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 20 at the Kale Funeral Home in Truro, with the Rev. Richard Hempenius officiating. Burial was in the St. Charles Cemetery.

May Myers, 84, a longtime resident of Truro, died at the Clarke County Public Hospital on Friday, October 25, 1974. Funeral services were held from the Kale Funeral Home in Truro at 2 p.m. Monday, October 28, with the Rev. Richard Hempenius of Truro officiating. Interment was in St. Charles Cemetery.
May Myers was born April 1, 1890, in St. Charles, Iowa, daughter of Jefferson Shutt and Isabelle Williamson Shutt. She attended schools in Warren County and on December 31, 1908, was married to Leo Myers at the home of her parents near St. Charles. Five children were born to this union. She was a lifetime resident of the St. Charles and Truro area where she was a member of the Truro United Methodist Church and active in their Bible Study Group.
She is survived by a son, Gerald and wife, Lilly of Truro; daughter, Isabelle DeBoer and husband Robert of Owasso, California; daughter, Laura Goodrich and husband, Ross of Osceola; daughter, Evelyn Fitzgerald and husband, Orville of Truro; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Blanche Myers of Truro; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Leo; one son, Roy; two grandchildren, Rex Myers and Gary Goodrich; six brothers and five sisters.
