HARRY NEAL of Winterset Dies

Harry C. Neal of Winterset, a resident of Madison county for most of his life, died at his home on East Jefferson street, Saturday, May 9, 1964. He was 62 years of age.

Mr. Neal's body was found by his wife, when she returned home from work. Sheriff Rex Rouse and Dr. Papul Eggleston, County medical examiner, were called. After an investigation, a report of probable suicide, with death from a self-inflicted gunshot wound was filed.

Mr. Neal was born in Madison county, Jan. 30, 1902, a son of Robert and Octavia Landers Neal. He farmed for many years but for the last 15 years had been employed by Madison county as a motor grader operator.

He was married Nov. 27, 1921, to Hazel Powell of Winterset, who survives him. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Daisy Dell Benge of Winterset, and a son, Dennis Dale Neal of Bevington, four grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Roy Strable of St. Charles; and two brothers, Frank and Lee Neal of Winterset.

Funeral services were held this Monday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Earl Travis. Burial was made in Union Chapel (south) cemetery.
