CLAUDE LECOCQ, Winterset

Claude LeCocq, 94, of Winterset died Sept. 22, 2009, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 25, at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Middle River Hospice of Winterset or Friends of the Winterset Library.

Claude LeCocq was born June 11, 1915, in Lorimor to Reuben and Ethel (Davis) LeCocq. His marriage to Edith Addy took place June 24, 1937. Claude was a lifelong farmer in Madison County and a member of the First Christian Church. He also served as past president of the Holliwell Country School Board.

He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother, Ward LeCocq.

He is survived by his daughter, Phrana Fisher of Winterset; and one granddaughter, two step-grandsons, two great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
