Mrs. Carter, one of the early settlers of this county, died at her daughter’s, Mrs. B. F. Haynes, in Union township yesterday morning, aged 77 years. Funeral services will be held from the Blair Chapel church in South township today.

Mrs. Parthena Carter, aged 77 years, died at the home of B. F. Haynes, a son-in-law, near Tileville, Wednesday morning. Her remains were deposited by the side of her late husband, Peter Carter, of South township, in the Blair Chapel cemetery on Thursday in presence of a large number of friends. Rev. Long, of the United Brethren church, of which the good, old lady had long been a worthy member, preached an appropriate funeral discourse, and was assisted in his duties by Rev. Palmer, of St. Charles.
Six sons of the deceased were the pall bearers. Her three living daughters were also present.
