The remains of Mrs. Dessa Pearce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Koon, were brought here from St. Louis, Monday evening. Interment took place from the Koon home Tuesday afternoon at 4 o’clock. Her death was due to brain trouble from which she had been a sufferer for some time.

Death of Mrs. James Pierce

Mr. James Pierce arrived in the city Monday with the remains of his wife, Mrs. Dessie Koon Pierce, who died in St. Louis June 22nd. Miss Dessie Koon was born in Pennsylvania, May 23rd and moved to this country with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Koon in 1865 and spent a large portion of her life in this city, where she has a large circle of friends.

The funeral occurred from the residence of her parents Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Jacobs and Rev. McDonald, after which she was laid to rest in the Rock City cemetery.
