GUYE – Samuel H. Guye, pioneer resident of Iowa, died Tuesday evening at his home, 713 Lyon Street. He was born in Indiana in 1836, and moved to Winterset, Ia. with his parents when he was 9 years old. He has resided in Des Moines for the last twenty-eight years. He is survived by his widow and two sons, Forest Guye of Des Moines and Louis Guye of Denver. Funeral services will be held from the residence this morning at 11:00 o’clock. Interment will be in the Woodland Cemetery.

Huston Guye Dead

Samuel Huston Guye, one of the Guye brothers who came with their father to Madison County in May 1846, died in Des Moines Tuesday morning. The funeral will be held there. Mr. Guye has lived in Des Moines ever since selling his farm here over 40 years ago.
