MRS. BEN SPRINKLE

Mrs. Cora Sprinkle, widow of the late Ben W. Sprinkle, barber shop operator and owner in Winterset and in Canon City, Colo., died at the Canon City hospital, Friday evening Feb. 2nd.

She had been sick for the past month and had been confined to the hospital for about ten days. Although her condition had been regarded as serious, her death came as shock to her friends.

Mrs. Sprinkle was an active member of the Methodist church. She was born in Ohio on Dec. 9, 1870 and was 69 years of age at the time of her death. Mrs. Sprinkle was reared in Ohio and moved to Winterset when a young woman. It was here that she met Ben W. Sprinkle and they were married here in 1893.

They lived here until in the 1900's, when they moved to Canon City where they had since resided. The Canon City paper states that in her thirty years' residence there, she had made and kept hundreds of friends. "A devoted wife and mother, her life was centered around her home and her church."

Mrs. Sprinkle's only surviving relative is her daughter, Mrs. Helen Smith of Larchmont, New York, who was called to Colorado by her mother's illness and was present when her mother's death occurred. Mr. Sprinkle died about six years ago.

The Rev. H. C. Kephart conducted her funeral services at the Methodist church in Canon City, Monday, Feb. 5th, and burial was in the Lakeside cemetery.
