A very sudden death occurred on the last hour of the old century in this locality. Miss Bridget Ryan left home in her usual good health for the purpose of attending a midnight mass in St. Patrick’s church and had walked only a short distance when she complained of a shortage of breath and almost immediately fell and was dead in a few minutes. Miss Ryan was respected by all with whom she was acquainted. Her remains were interred in St. Patrick’s cemetery on Friday the 4th.
