JACOB MCNELEY DIES

Solomon Jacob McNeley, one of the pioneers of Madison county died Sunday at Clarinda at the age of 90 years.

McNeley had been a resident of this community for 80 years having come here with his parents, James and Jane McNeley in 1853. They came from Tuscarawas county, Ohio. The family settled in the country, but moved to Winterset about 60 years ago. Solomon McNeley followed the carpenter trade.

On November 28th, 1865, he was married to Manerva Bishop. She died in 1924. They were the parents of seven children, four of whom are living now. The surviving children are Arthur McNeley of Amity, Oregon and Mrs. Effie Martin, Charles McNeley and Roy McNeley of Winterset. They also leave 20 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Clarinda. Burial was also made at Clarinda.
