Carroll, formerly of EarlhamDarlene H. Pryor, age 91 died at St. Anthony's Hospital in Carroll, Iowa Saturday, August 29, 2009.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday September 3, 2009 at the Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham, where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service time. Burial will follow at the Earlham Cemetery.
Darlene is survived by her daughters, Norma Jean Pryor of Glidden, IA, Karen Horman and husband Paul of Crossville, TN, granddaughters Kimberly Horman of Baltimore MD and Heather O'Kane and husband Jason of Columbia SC. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ivan Pryor and a brother Lloyd McClurg. Memorials may be directed to the Special Olympics.

Services were held Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009 at Kuhn Funeral Homes in Earlham with Pastor Neal Hanley of Earlham officiating. Special music included “In The Garden” and “The Old Rugged Cross”.
Bearers were Paul Horman, Jason O’Kane, Louis Ferguson, Randy Huegerish, Nick Price, and Jim Carey.
Interment was in Earlham Cemetery, Earlham.
Darlene Helen Pryor was born the daughter of Robert and Ethel (Hartman) McClurg at the family farm in Madison County on July 7, 1918. She attended and graduated from the DeSoto Community Schools.
On Aug. 14, 1943, Darlene and Ivan Pryor were married in Earlham. This union was blessed with two children, Norma Jean and Karen. Following Ivan’s return from World War II, they moved to a farm in the Worthington area of Madison County, where they farmed until 1985. Darlene and Ivan moved to Carroll to be closer to their daughter Norma Jean.
Darlene was a homebody who enjoyed reading and working puzzle and word search book. She was very attentive to visiting with Norma Jean and seeing to her needs. Darlene and Ivan did some traveling in the early years, and spent time at Black Hawk Lake camping and fishing. Ivan died in 2005, and Darlene’s vision became such that she was not able to get out but was able to maintain her home in Carroll.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ethel McClurg, a brother, Lloyd McClurg, and a sister-in-law, Ila McClurg.
Survivors include two daughter, Norma Jean of Glidden and Karen Horman and husband Paul of Crossville, Tenn., and two grandchildren.
Kuhn Funeral Homes of Dexter, Earlham, and Redfield was in charge of arrangements.
