Kay Cunningham, 74, passed away at her home Thursday, August 27, 2009. The family will greet friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. A private family burial will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Kay was born December 24, 1934 in Winterset, IA to Jay and Maxine (Whitlow) Scott. She was a lifelong resident of the Des Moines area. Kay's greatest passion in life was her family. She was devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Kay loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending all of their activities.
Kay is survived by her sons, Randy (Kathy) Cunningham and Jeff (Kathy) Cunningham; son-in-law, James Kendrick; brother, John (Susan) Scott; grandchildren, Tim, Randle, Amy, Clinton, Kasey and Blake; five great-grandchildren; and many other extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh; daughter, Tamie; her parents; and her siblings, Donna, Janice and Jerry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
