Darlene "Dee" Price, age 69 died at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset, Iowa on Thursday August 13, 2009.
No services are planned, however a visitation will be held at the Kuhn Funeral Home in Earlham Sunday August 16, 2009 from 3 to 8 p.m., where the family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Private disposition of the cremains will occur at a later date.
Darlene is survived by her sons: Tony Goforth of West Des Moines; Keith Goforth of Carthage, SC; Paul and John Goforth of Flint, MI; her personal friend Jack Kinkennon of Earlham; six grandchildren and eleven great- grandchildren.

Darlene Jackson was born Nov. 21, 1939 in Goshen, Ind., to Florence and Andrew Jackson. She had a twin sister, Arline Caroline Jackson. After a few years in Indiana, it was decided they wanted to move back to Des Moines, where Florence had lived most of her life.
Darlene was a typical child, going from one activity to another and getting in trouble like all children. She had a very active childhood with six brothers and sisters.
Darlene married James Max Goforth on Jan. 2, 1956, and they resided in Flint, Mich. Darlene and James were the parents of four boys, James Anthony, Keith Alvin, Paul Eugene, and John Edwin.
Darlene divorced and returned to Des Moines in 1967. After returning to Des Moines, she purchased a small town tavern in Earlham where she met and married her second husband, James Price. She divorced James in 1998, but continued to live in Earlham.
Darlene was a very fun loving spirit who enjoyed having a good time. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She loved the challenge of playing pool and bowling. She had many collections of things that caught her eye, and enjoyed working with her twin sister making dolls from scratch. Darlene was a very social person, and enjoyed her many friends and community work. She enjoyed the company of her companion, Jack Kinkennon, the last few years. Always by her side was her wonderful dog, Faith.
Darlene was baptized at the DeSoto Baptist Church in 1998.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Max Goforth, her mother, Florence Bledsoe, her father, Andrew Isaac Jackson, and her brother, Andrew Jackson, Jr.
Kuhn Funeral Homes of Earlham, Dexter, and Redfield was in charge of arrangements.
