Mrs. Buell Garmon died at her home in Patterson, Saturday, after a long illness with consumption. Funeral services were held Sunday, p.m., conducted by Rev. Hancox, and the remains laid to rest in the Montpelier cemetery.

Mrs. D. B. Garmon died at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Isaiah Miles of Patterson Saturday morning Sept. 8th, of consumption and was interred in the Montpelier cemetery Sunday. Her sister Jessie Miles Simpson succumbed to the same disease a little over six weeks ago. The family have the sympathy of the entire community in their time of sorrow.

Obituary

Etta Miles was born July 30th, 1866, she united with the M.E. church when fifteen years old and lived a devoted Christian life.

April 27th, 1890 she was united in marriage with D. B. Garmon. Two children were born to them both of whom are living.

Mrs. Garmon died Sept. 8th, 1900 at the age of 34 years, 1 month 9 days. Her last sickness was slow and lingering but she bore all pain faithfully, and expressed herself as ready and willing to go. She lived a pure Christian life and had perfect faith that her savior had a home prepared for her.

She leaves husband, children, father, mother, sister, brother and friends to mourn.

Rev. A. Hancox conducted the funeral services at the M.E. church in Patterson after which she was laid away in the cemetery by the sister that had been called away such a short time before.

Coordinator's note: The 1870 Federal Census has her first name as "Marietta" but all other records show that she went by "Etta".
