Intelligence reached this city on last Wednesday that “Aunt Sally,” the aged widow of the late Joel M. Clanton, had died at the home of her son, Wm. W. Clanton, at Norwalk, Cal., where she has for several years been so kindly cared for in her old age and declining health, and that conditions were such that the remains could not be returned to this place for burial in the family group in the St. Charles cemetery. This is a matter of regret to the friends who so well knew of the pure life and kind deeds of this good lady and her noble husband. They were pioneers of South township, and their industry and hospitality assisted materially in making this locality a pleasant place to live. She was 82 years old.

Note: Burial was at the Little Lake Cemetery, Santa Fe Springs, Calif.
