Peter Villiers died at his home in Lincoln township on Tuesday last after an illness of twelve days from typhoid pneumonia. His funeral services were conducted by Rev. Follansbee, from the Christian church, yesterday afternoon, at 2 p.m.

Peter Villier was born in Warren county, Iowa, September 18th, 1867 and died in Lincoln township, this county, May 1st, 1900.
His parents moved to this county when he was six months old and his home has been here ever since. During the past three years, Peter has taken trips to Oklahoma, Washington, Oregon and Montana. He had made arrangements to go to Alberta, Dominion of Canada, when he was taken sick. A week ago last Saturday he was upon the streets of Winterset apparently in good health, and returned to his home stricken with typhoid pneumonia, which terminated his life in ten days. His death was the first in the family. He leaves a father, mother, two brothers and two sisters. His funeral was held at the Christian church, Winterset, Rev. Follansbee preaching the sermon, and was attended by a large congregation of neighbors and friends.

We were grieved to learn of the death of Peter Villars, which was almost wholly unexpected, he being sick only a few days. The funeral services were held at the Christian church by Rev. Follansbee, and many friends and relatives followed his remains to their last resting place in the Winterset cemetery.

Peter Villiers, a stalwart young giant known to nearly everyone in the county, died at his home west of the city, Tuesday morning of pneumonia. Villiers had determined to go to Alberta, Canada but changed his mind for some reason or other and did not go. He was taken ill only a few days ago and rapidly succumbed to the disease.
He was a man of great stature. The funeral occurred Wednesday.
