Mrs. Black passed away June 5, at her home in Truro. She has been cremated and interment of her cremains will be in Camelsberg, KY at a later date.

Dorothy L. Black, daughter of Orville Glenwood Hahn and Janie L. (Harris) Hahn, was born Oct. 2, 1932, in Cantwell, Mo. and passed from this life June 5, 2009, at her home in Truro, at 76 years of age.
Dorothy received her early education in Missouri and later completed her education in Iowa. She was united in marriage to Harry Black on Nov. 10, 1982, at Des Moines, and they were the parents of eight children.
Dorothy worked at various places over the years but enjoyed her time as a homemaker. Dorothy enjoyed ceramics, crocheting and collecting ships, bells, and teapots. She also enjoyed bowling and was member of many leagues in Des Moines and Chariton over the years. She was a well known seamstress among her family; making wedding dresses, prom dresses and many other items. Most of all, she was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan!
Those relatives who preceded Dorothy in death were he parents; husband, Harry in 1994; son, Danny Cook; brothers, Robert and Shelby Hahn; and her aunt, Bonnie Horton.
She leaves to cherish her memory; son, Mike (Lori) Cook of St. Louis, Mo.; daughter, Karen (Billy) Willett of Truro; daughter, Kathleen Marlow of Indianola; stepdaughter, Kelly (Ty) Leggett of West Des Moines; stepdaughter, Kathryn (Charles) Dixon of Winterset. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren; her best friend, Barbara Cook of Truro, as well as nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
Mrs. Black was cremated, and no services are planned. Her cremains will be buried at Sulfur Cemetery in Camelsberg, Ky. at a later date.
