WALLACE KING Obituary

George Wallace King, son of Mr. And Mrs. James King, was born in Maynard county, Illinois, near Petersburg, August 3rd, 1861, and died at Winterset, Iowa, on August 29th, 1924, aged 63 years and 26 days.

He, with his parents, left their home in Illinois the spring following the Civil War and came to a farm near Winterset where they lived one year and then moved to Winterset, where he has lived ever since.

He was married to Jessie Klingman of Madison county, Iowa, February 26, 1885. To this union were born three sons, Roy W., Ray G. and Harry C., who are all married and live at Winterset. He suffered ill health for several years, but has never complained and did not give up his work as janitor of the Madison county court house here until the last few weeks.

He leaves to mourn his death his aged mother, and sister, Lula King of Winterset, a sister, Mrs. Scott Funk, of Alhambra, California, his wife and three sons.

Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon, August 31st, at 4 p.m. conducted by Rev. D. J. Shenton.
