LeRoy Claus Horn was born January 25, 1933 in Stuart, Iowa to Della Mae (Baker) and Ludwig Peter Horn. He attended grade school in rural Madison County and Winterset High School. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War.

On May 31, 1957 he was united in marriage to Marian Kay Henry in Macksburg, Iowa. LeRoy lived his life in Orient where he was a truck driver for Warner Enterprise, then Solar Transport for many years. He also drove a school bus for 8 years, retiring in 2006.

He was a member of the Orient United Methodist Church, Head Endres American Legion Post #265 in Greenfield, was a commander of Orient American Legion and was a member of the Orient Volunteer Fire Dept. for 25 years.

LeRoy is survived by his wife Marian Horn of Orient; his daughter: Patricia Savage of Creston; two sons: Glen Horn of Orient and Ronald Horn of Greenfield; his brother: Kenneth (wife Konnie) Horn of Winterset; his sister: Mildred Herman of Fontanelle; one sister-in-law: Mildred Clark of Dixon, Mo; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; three great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant brother: Herman; mother and father in-law: John and Bernice Henry and two brothers-in-law: Al Herman and William Clark.
