MABEL SARAH BANE - West Des Moines

A memorial service for Mabel Bane, 92, will be Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 10 a.m., at the Walnut Hills Methodist Church.

Born August 18, 1916 in Madison County, she was the daughter of Fred Albert and Sarah Ann (Fair) Luscombe. Mabel married Ormal Bane in 1935. She retired from Sears in 1980. She enjoyed basketball, genealogy, politics, local and world affairs, and entertaining family and friends.

Mabel passed away October 28, 2008 at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines.

Surviving is a daughter, Beverly (Henry) Bechtel of West Des Moines, son-in-law Ronald Babb of Chicago, six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: George Luscombe and Charles Luscombe; a sister Hazel Lowery; daughter Shirley Babb; and an infant grandson Christopher Babb.
