Jerry A Scott, 68, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jerry was born on April 17, 1940 to Maxine and Jay Scott in Winterset, IA. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1958.

Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on cars. He was a member of the Colfax Gun Club and a lifetime member of the NRA.

He was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. His family was his pride and joy. He enjoyed telling happy stories about his children and grandchildren to his friends. His friends knew they could count on him and his word was his bond.

Jerry is survived by his son, Jay Scott of Atlanta, GA; his daughter, Jodi (Chad) Airhart of Waukee, IA; grandchildren, Tyler Chumbley and Caitlin Scott; sister, Kay Cunningham all of Des Moines; and his brother, John (Susan) Scott of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Darcie Scott; his parents; sister, Donna Moon; and twin sister, Janice Barber.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2008 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest next to his daughter, Darcie, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
