St. Charles and BoundaboutA young girl named Helen Woodside aged 11 years, whom Mrs. Weede, widow of the late J. M. Weede, residing four miles southeast of St. Charles, had kindly taken from the Iowa Children’s Home and given an excellent place and a mother’s love and care in her own family, was stricken and died on Monday morning from a recurrence of spinal meningitis, an attack of which she passed safely through some months ago. She had apparently been in the best of health and spirits until the time preceeding death. She was an uncommonly bright and loveable child and her sudden and untimely death is a severe blow to the hearts of the family; most particularly to Mother Weede, whose idol she was, and who looked upon her with the fond hope that she would be her comfort and companion in declining years. Funeral Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the U. P. church, Rev. Mr. Proudfoot officiating. Burial in the St. Charles cemetery.
