ROBERTA CLAYTON, Winterset

Roberta "Betty" Lee Clayton, 81, of Winterset died May 2, 2009, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held today (Wednesday, May 6) at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. Burial was at Earlham Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Middle River Hospice. Online condolences may be sent to the family at ochiltree.com.

Betty Clayton was born March 26, 1928, in Casey (Adair County) to LaFayette and Hulda (Cass) Morrison. Her marriage to Ralph Dunmire took place Nov. 15, 1947. Following his death, she later married Howard Clayton on Jan. 6, 1980, in Nebraska. Betty was employed by the Earlham Cafe as a cook and at Bentler's Truck Stop near Earlham and DeSoto as a waitress. She also worked for Custom Printing and Mailing in DeSoto as a sorter.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, Ralph and Howard; her twin brother, Robert Morrison; two sisters, Joann Morris and Frances Coffman; and a half-sister, Sandra Ball.

She is survived by three sons, Rick Dunmire and Dennis Dunmire, both of Winterset, and Howard Clayton of Earlham; two brothers, Phillip Morrison of Arizona and Terry Morrison of Winterset; and 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
