Mrs. Doris Goode, 86, of Indianola died Sunday, April 6, 2003 at the Kavanagh House on 56th Street in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2003 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery in St. Charles.

Mrs. Goode was born in Madison County, Iowa. She had lived in Indianola for the past 20 years, living at Shirlee's Retirement Home for the past year. Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church and had worked in the church library for several years. She was a very active member of the United Methodist Women and enjoyed needle work, her church, and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Larry Goode and his wife Mary of Norwalk, one brother Wayne Estell of Winterset and one sister Verna Turnmeir of Osage, 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kavanagh House on 56th Street in Des Moines where she received affectionate care throughout her final days. Overton Funeral Home in Indianola is in charge of arrangements.
