Death of VERNON HOWELL

Hugh Vernon Howell was born August 22, 1890, and died June 7, 1909, at the home of his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Lanson Howell, near Patterson.

He was a kind hearted boy, with a splendid disposition, enmity having no place in his heart, full of ambition and with a purpose to carry out whatever be said that his early death cut short a life that was full of promise. His parents and six brothers mourn his untimely death. He had been ill for about two weeks with typhoid fever, and was somewhat weakened by a severe attack of measles, early this spring.

The funeral services, conducted by Rev. Nichols, were held at the residence of his parents at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, and interment was made in the Montpelier cemetery. The high esteem in which the young man was held was very evident from the large number of friends who came out to attend the funeral services.
