Barbara J. Faux, 76, of Winterset died April 9, 2009, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 14, at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Pastor Sandy Smith officiating. Burial was at Clark Cemetery in Madison County. Memorials may be directed to her family.
Barb Faux was born Oct. 5, 1932, in Madison County to Lyle and Laura (Snow) Berry and was a 1950 graduate of Winterset High School. Her marriage to Russell “Hobie” Eugene Faux took place May 18, 1963, in Grant City, Mo. Barb, a lifetime resident of Madison County, started her career as a hairdresser, then worked in retail sales and as a bartender. She was one of the founding members of the county bartenders convention.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leslie and Larry; and two sisters, Betty and Shirley.
She is survived by her husband, Russell, of Winterset; three sons, Steve Cooper and Russell Lyle Faux, both of Winterset, and Joseph Cooper of Afton; two daughters, Debra Callison of Shannon City and Rhonda Allen of Lorimor; stepchildren — Delta Goolsly, Penny Gautreux, Mary Touchette, and Dicky Faux, all of Sulphur, La.; and 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Barb, 76, will be 10:30 Tuesday, at McCalley-Collins Funeral Home with burial at Clark Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from noon to 8p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 to 8p.m. Memorials may go to her family.
