Patricia Lou Dutton, 82, of Truro died March 8, 2009, at Madison County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held today (Wednesday, March 11) at the Truro United Congregational Church of Christ with Pastor Shonda Deranaleau officiating. Burial was at Ebenezer Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Truro Fire & Rescue or the Truro Betterment Committee.
Pat Dutton was born Feb. 14, 1927, to Isaac Earl and Florence Rachel (Franks) Holmes of Truro. She received her education in the Truro School District, graduating from Truro High School. Her marriage to Marvin Dale Dutton took place Aug. 30, 1948, in Urbandale. Pat was a lifelong member of the Truro community, except for the brief times she and her family lived in Knoxville (Iowa), Wheeler (Texas) and Kansas while Marvin was with the pipeline. Pat’s memberships included the Truro Centennial Committee; Truro Betterment Committee; Truro Alumni; and the Truro Congregational United Church of Christ, of which she was a board member and former Sunday school teacher. She also had been a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader.
She was preceded in death by her husband and four sisters — Nola Atkinson, Marge Creger, Dorothy Meader and Ruth in infancy.She is survived by one daughter, Kim Goad of Wheeler, Texas; one son, Mike Dutton of Knoxville; a brother, Harold Holmes of Johnston; and three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 11 at Truro Congregational United Church of Christ. Visitation will be open after 12 noon Tuesday with the family present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kale Funeral Home in Truro. Interment will be at Ebenezer Cemetery near Truro.
Pat is survived by her children, Kim (Fred) Goad of Wheeler, TX; son, Mike Dutton (Sue Wright) of Knoxville, IA; grandchildren, Mika Sloan (Dusty) of Borger, TX; Bret Goad of Wheeler, TX; Dickie and C.J. Wright of Knoxville, IA; great-grandson, Eli Michael Sloan of Borger, TX; brother, Harold (Virginia) Holmes of Johnston, IA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the Truro Fire and Rescue or the Truro Betterment Committee.
