Patricia “Pat” A. Murphy, 73, of Aledo, Ill., and formerly of Rock Island, Ill., died Feb. 14, 2009, at the Aledo Rehab & Health Care Center.

No services were held. Burial will be at a later date at Blair Chapel Cemetery, St. Charles, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Aledo Rehab & Health Care Center. Arrangements were handled by Bewley Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Aledo.

Pat Murphy was born June 15, 1935, to Eljay Garfield and Mary Jane (Carvey) Hathaway of Hanley. Her marriage to Floyd James McKinney took place July 23, 1954, in Winterset. Following Floyd’s death in 1971, Pat, a homemaker, later married Donald Dean Murphy on Sept. 10, 1988, in Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; two daughters, Vanessa Smith of Milan, Ill., and Teresa Sage of Rock Island, Ill.; a brother, Charles Hathaway of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Althea Housman and Sylvia Petersen, both of Winterset; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
