MRS. ALBERT B. SHAW

Mrs. A. B. Shaw died at her home in the west part of the city Saturday of apoplexy. Mrs. Shaw came to Winterset with her husband from Webster township several years ago. They had long lived there and were among the first settlers of the township.

Mrs. Shaw was married in Ohio, and came to Madison county in an early day. She was seventy-three years old. Her maiden name was Brown. She had eleven children, four dying in infancy. All but one of the seven living were present at the funeral.

Mrs. Shaw was well known in Winterset and the west part of the county, and her death caused a profound shock in the community.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. Matheny, of the Methodist church, of which denomination Mrs. Shaw was a life long member. The burial was at Pleasant View cemetery in Webster township.

Coordinator's note: The maiden name "Brown" as published here is not supported by any other documentation. He marriage record along with children's marriage records and the 1925 Iowa State Census for son George all support "Snyder" as her maiden name.
