Page 1Walter Scott, who had been suffering with consumption of the bowels since June 1st, and had been bed-ridden for the past six weeks, died at the home of his parents, three miles northeast of Truro, Saturday August 12th.
Walter was 28 years and 15 days old, a young man of ability and admired by many friends, both at his home and in Winterset, where he had been in the employ of the Smith Drug Co. The family, consisting of his parents, three brothers and two sisters were present. Walter was a member of the Coon Rapids lodge, Knights of Pythias, and a large delegation of the K. P. boys from Winterset attended the funeral.
The funeral services were conducted Monday by Rev. Farley under the auspices of the K. P. lodge of Truro, and the remains were interred at that place.

Walter Scott, who until recently was in the employ of the Smith Drug Co., of this place, died of consumption at the family home near Truro, on last Saturday, August 12.
The funeral was held on Monday at the Methodist church at Truro, and was attended by a delegation from the Winterset Knights of Pythias lodge, of which order Mr. Scott was a member.
He was 28 years of age, and was a brother of W. R. Scott, foreman of the Winterset Reporter office. His health had long been declining with the dread disease, though he kept to his occupation and did not yield until a few weeks before his death.

Walter Scott, who has been sick for several weeks at the home of his parents, A. O. Scott, north of town, died Saturday evening. The funeral was held in the M. E. church Monday and the remains interred in the Truro cemetery.
