Mrs. Franey Alexander, mother of Mrs. Ella Dunbar, died last night at her home shortly after 11 o'clock, of heart failure. Mrs. Alexander was a lady of some 80 years and was apparently in the best of health for one her age. She was taken suddenly ill during the night and expired in a very short time.

Mrs. Alexander, who lived with her daughter, Mrs. Dunbar, on West Jefferson St., died Wednesday night about 11 of heart failure. Mrs. Alexander was over 80 years old and has been troubled with heart disease for many years.

Mrs. Franey Alexander, an old lady living on West Jefferson street, died Wednesday night at 10:45. The funeral will occur Friday afternoon.

Obituary

Franey Evans was born in North Carolina, Sept. 19th, 1823 and departed this life Aug. 30th, 1905, being nearly 82 years of age at death. When she was a child of but five years old, her parents moved to Indiana, where she grew to young womanhood and was united in marriage to Wm. Alexander. To this union, nine children were born, four daughters and five sons, all of whom but one son are living, one son having died at the age of nineteen.

About fifty years ago, she and her husband moved to Madison county, where she has since resided and her children have grown to man and womanhood. Her husband died thirty-six years ago. Besides her eight children she leaves other relatives and many friends to mourn her loss. When young she was converted and united with the M.E. church and remained faithful in her trust in Christ during all her life and died in the faith of Jesus.

The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. R. W. Matheney at the M.E. church Sept. 1st, 1905, at 3 o’clock p.m.
