The death of Uncle Israel Taylor removes one more of the many pioneers of South township, a full hundred of whom, good men and women that lived in this village and township 31 years ago, when the writer came here and soon learned to know and respect them, have passed to the great beyond, most of them at a ripe age and all of them highly respected.

South Township

I. S. Taylor, an old resident of this township, died on Wednesday of last week. Some time ago he had a paralytic stroke, and on Sunday the 19 inst., another which proved fatal. He leaves an aged wife, a son and daughter and several grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Hancox, at Union Chapel, on Thursday.

ADDITIONAL LOCAL

Israel Taylor, father of Fayette Taylor of South township, died Wednesday morning. He was eighty-five years old and was one of the oldest settlers of that township.
