Death of DR. DENMAN

Tiding were received last week of the death of Dr. J. I. Denman at his home in the State of New York.

The doctor had not been in good health for the last two years but was able to continue in practice. About a week before he died he took a severe cold which settled upon his lungs, and pneumonia carried him off.

Dr. Denman was a citizen of Winterset in 1856-57. He was an educated and companionable gentleman, and a fine physician. He was highly respected by all who knew him. He was one of the "seven" who took part in the meeting which organized the Republican party in Madison county.

His wife, who survives him, was Miss Lois Snell, a Winterset girl, a cousin of Mrs. Julia Pitzer.
