Thomas Sturman of Union Township, one of Madison County's oldest settlers, died last Wednesday evening. He was taken ill the Friday before with pleurisy and a complication of troubles set in. He was much respected in the community where he lived.

Note: Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
