Earlham, IowaHelen was born in Madison County, Iowa on May 20, 1895, the daughter of Charles and Margaret Stanley. She was united in marriage to Gerry Hougham in Des Moines on June 28, 1919.
Helen died on Thursday, July 16 of a heart attack at her daughter’s home in Adel at the age of 92.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Adel, Earlham Chapter #294, Order of the Eastern Star and Adel Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 10 brothers, four sisters and two grandsons.
She is survived by son Howard Hougham of Des Soto, Kansas, two daughters Betty Jerome of Adel and Martha Evans of Des Moines, sister Leah Cook of Earlham, seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 20, 1987 at the First Christian Church in Adel. Interment was in the Earlham Cemetery.
