Maggie Clara Mapes, daughter of Asa and Isabell McQuie Moore was born August 10, 1902 in Madison County, Iowa. She died April 23, 1987.

(Echo date was August 10, 1902, same as her birth date.)

Clara was a member of Early Chapel Christian Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Sumner, her parents, two brothers, two sisters, one nephew and one niece. Surviving her are one son, Sumner and his wife Carol, two much-loved grandchildren, Elliott Bruce and Donna Eileen, all of Pella and one niece.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, April 26, 1987 at the Early Chapel church, rural Earlham, Iowa with Rev. Cheri Gelner officiating. Gretchen Brittain provided the organ music. Pallbearers were Arthur Mapes, Franklyn Mapes, Warren Carter, George Radakovich, Donald Mapes, Jerry Mapes, Dean Stump, and Steve Radakovich. Interment was in the Penn Center Cemetery, Earlham, Iowa.
