Mr. Charles Piercy, 63, of Adel, passed away Sunday, May 19 at the Mercy Medical Center of a heart attack. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 21 at Fisher Funeral Home in Adel. Interment was in the Waukee Cemetery.

Charles was born in Dallas County on June 11, 1921, the son of James and Rose Piercy. He was married to Florence Hill in Adel on November 2, 1946.

He retired from the Iowa Department of Transportation in 1984. He was a member of Pitzer Presbyterian Church and Adel American Legion and V.F.W.

Preceding Charles in death was a daughter, Gaile Marie.

Survivors are his wife, Florence; daughter, Dixie Summy of Earlham; parents, James and Rose Piercy of Adel; two sisters, Ruth Hunter of Adel and Aleta Collins of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and two grandchildren, Stephanie and Chad.
