Harvey Beaman passed away June 28, 1985 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa after an illness of several years. He was 63. He was born July 16, 1921.

Harvey was a retired farmer who spent the majority of his life in the Dexter area. At the time of his death he was residing in Dexter with his wife Marian.

In his younger days, Harvey was an avid hunter and fisherman. He served as an elder for the Dexter Presbyterian Church of which he had been a member for 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with his nine granddaughters and two grandsons. He served in World War II in the South Pacific for the United States Army.

Harvey was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife Marian; two sons, Bill of Lenox and Ben of Earlham; two daughters, Dawn Durham and Jacque McLaughlin, both of Des Moines; his mother, Ida Mae Beaman, sisters, Leota Nesselroad and Faye Roach, all of Alva, Florida; sister Isabel Ramp, of LaPorte, Indiana, and one brother, Donald Beaman of Taylor, Wisconsin.

Funeral services were held July 1, 1985 at the Dexter Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Al Polito, Jr., officiating. Organ music was provided by Nadine Shepherd. Pallbearers were Bill Trapp, Chuck Jurgensen, Donald Algreen, Bill Bond, Bill Bond Jr. and Keith Wambold. Interment was in Dexter Cemetery, Dexter, Iowa.

Professional arrangements by McKee Funeral Home, Earlham and Dexter.
