His early life was lived near the place of his birth, where he was united in marriage to Nancy A. Loch in 1879. Mrs. Lynn lived only a short time after their marriage. On October 12, 1881 he married Mary J. Loch a sister of his former wife. She too preceded him in death but a few years ago.

About 25 years ago Mr. Lynn came to Earlham community, settling on a farm east of town. He has spent the remainder of his life in this community. He was one of the respected families of the community, and stood for the higher and more noble purposes of life. He believed in building a wholesome community spirit. He was the kind of a man you would like for a neighbor. Always ready to assist a friend when in need.

He not only talked it, but he lived it. His day has ended, he has left behind a legacy far more valuable than silver and gold—a good name that will live long after the body has returned to the earth.
