BEVERLY JEAN ANDERSON,

Funeral services were held for Beverly Jean Anderson at 10:30 a.m. On Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Dexter Methodist Church in Dexter, Iowa. Pastor Kirk Seagren officiating.

Pianist was Brian Martens and the Piano solos were “In The Garden”, “Softly and Tenderly” and “Claire de Lune”.

Pallbearers were Jared MontBlanc, Jason MontBlanc, Travis MontBlanc, James Soucek, Paul Glasson and Chuck Weesner.

Beverly Jean Anderson was born January 10, 1926 in Madison County, Iowa to George Alfred Weesner and Agnes Pauline Tobin. She attended school through 8th grade at a small Madison County school in Jackson Township. Her high school years and graduation were from Earlham Community High School, Earlham, Iowa.

After graduation Beverly worked at Bankers Life Company in Des Moines, Iowa, attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines and then went to work as a secretary at Wright Field in Dayton, Ohio, after WW II ended.

She returned to Iowa City, Iowa and attended the University of Iowa for two years until her marriage to Lawrence Willard Hayes in 1947; whereupon, Beverly worked at the Psychiatric Hospital in Iowa City, while Lawrence finished his degree. To this union four children were born.

In 1986 Beverly married Paul E. Anderson of Huxley, Iowa who brought a step-son, Paul Edward Anderson, Jr., wife Jean and three grandchildren to the marriage. Since their marriage, Paul and Beverly have lived in Bettendorf, Iowa. Beverly received a BA in elementary teaching from the University of Evansville, Evansville, Indiana. She taught at Moulton-Udell, Iowa grade schools for three years and then received an MA in learning disabilities at Marycrest College in Davenport, Iowa. After receiving the degree she taught in the Pleasant Valley Iowa School System in that field.

Survivors include a sister, Wanda Nelson and husband, Warren of Sioux City, Ia; daughter Dr. Nancy Jo Hayes-Soucek and husband, Dr. Richard Seward, Ne; daughter, Judith Ann MontBlanc of Jacksonville Beach, Fl; son Thomas Lawrence Hayes and wife Janel of Shorewood, Mn; son, David George Hayes and fiance Barbara Schneff of Bettendorf, Ia; step-son Paul Anderson, Jr. & wife, Jean of Overland Park, Ks; 4 grandsons, Jared Ryan, Jason Reid, Travis MontBlanc, Mitchell Hayes; and 1 step-grandson, James Soucek.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Paul Anderson, Sr.

Interment was held in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Iowa. Kuhn Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
