ELIZABETH P. CHRISTENSEN

Elizabeth P. Christensen, 74, passed on into the presence of the Lord Monday, June 23, 2008, after valiantly battling a lengthy illness, which she never allowed to alter her fun-loving and encouraging nature. She was a devoted wife to Paul, and an extraordinary mother and grandmother to her beloved family: son, Fred Christensen; daughter, Susan Dill and dear friend, Hank Walker and daughter and son-in-law Sarah and Tom Otto, all of Orlando, Fl.

She so loved her grandchildren, Freddy Christensen, Dustin Dill, Derek Dill, Lori Christensen, Kelli Christensen and twins, Kati and Cody Christensen. She is survived by her one and only sister Margaret Schafer of Earlham.

With a love for reading, she went on to enjoying her sorority affiliation, Delta Delta Delta. She was married in 1956 and moved to Florida in 1961. With husband Paul, she established and maintained a successful family business known today as Action-Gator Tire Company of Orlando, Fl. For over 20 years, she dedicated her spare time serving her neighbors as Secretary/Treasurer of her neighborhood Homeowners Association.

She loved sharing her fun-loving spirit with her children and grandchildren. She was known to all as an avid Miami Dolphins football fan and loved attending Super Bowls. She was one of Orlando Magic's original and most loyal fans. She especially loved traveling with her family and spending time with them at their Longboat Key home. She was known to enjoy the simplest of things, like playing cards and board games with her grandchildren.

She has left an indelible legacy of never uttering an unkind word against another, always being an encourager, a wonderful listener and being fully devoted to the well being of her family. Her "salt of the earth" style, her peaceful nature, her warm smile, and deep love for her family and friends will be greatly missed. She was truly loved by everyone who knew her.

Note: Elizabeth was born and raised in Earlham, the daughter of Fred and Helen (Briggs) Hunter.

She graduated from Earlham High School in 1952.
