Charles P. Mleynek, son of Francis and Mary Mleynek was born near Jamaica, in Guthrie county, Iowa February 24, 1891 and passed away at his farm home six miles southeast of Earlham, January 18, 1947, at the age of 55 years, 10 months and ----- days.

His parents moved to Earlham community when he was but a small child, and where he grew to manhood. He attended the country schools and graduated from the Earlham Academy. After finishing school he went to farming, which occupation he followed until his death.

He was united in marriage to Mrs. Pearl Enfield of Earlham, April 12, 1936. She preceded him in death November 19, 1944.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his mother Mrs. Mary Mleynek, and one sister Blanche Mleynek of Earlham. His father and one sister preceded him in death.

He spent his entire life in this community except the time spent in the service of his country as a soldier of World War I. He was an over-seas veteran and a member of the American Legion of Earlham.

He was a member of the Earlham I.O.O.F. and Rebekah lodges. These organizations will sadly miss him for he was a most active member of these groups.

Note: Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.
