Ruby Hartsook, 85, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at Hospice Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 5 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Urbandale with burial to follow at McDivitt Grove Cemetery.

Ruby was born June 29, 1920 in Winterset, Iowa to Walter and Gertrude Comp. She married Dave Hartsook in 1942 and built their home in Urbandale in 1948.

Ruby owned and operated Kozy Beauty Shop out of her home. She enjoyed flower gardening, Saturday get-togethers with friends and spending time with family.

Ruby is survived by two sons, Larry (Lori) Hartsook of Waukee and Al (Triny) Hartsook of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Cindy (George) Robbins of Urbandale; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will begin after 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Westover Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church or the Urbandale Historical Society.
