ALLEN M. HADLEY RITES HELD AT PENN CENTER

Funeral services for the late Allen M. Hadley who passed away at the Whitaker Nursing Home in Stuart Thursday afternoon October 3rd, were held in the Penn Center Methodist church Saturday afternoon October 5th at 2:30 with the pastor the Rev. J. Neal Clemmer in charge. Mrs. Merle J. Leeper and Mrs. Hazen Morford sang two duets, “Ivory Palaces” and “God’s Tomorrow”, they were accompanied by Mrs. Harold Fagen at the piano.

The casket bearers were Cal Duff, Harry Dunmire, Will Moore, Ralph McCray, Frank Leeper and Ed Cox.

Mrs. John Moreland, Mrs. Clark Hunter and Alma Werts were the flower committee.

Interment was in the Penn Center cemetery by the side of his wife who preceded him in death.

Obituary

Allen Madison Hadley, 79, died Thursday afternoon October 3, 1946 at the Whitaker Nursing Home in Stuart where he had made his home for the past year. He had been in failing health for several years.

He was born on a farm east of Dexter, April 8, 1867, the son of John and Emiline Hadley. He spent the most of his life on that farm.

Surviving are three children, Mrs. Jasper Merrill of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Fern of Stuart and Lloyd of Dexter.

Besides his children, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Rosie Mills of Earlham, two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
