SAMUEL FRANKLIN KIENER, West Des Moines

Samuel "Sam" Franklin Kiener, 15, of 4639 Elm Street died April 29, 2003 of complications of a bone marrow transplant in Minneapolis at Fairview University Medical Center. Funeral Services will be Friday May 2 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery near Cumming, IA.

Sam was born in Des Moines and a Freshman at Dowling High School. He was involved in Boy Scouts of America, and a participant in Odyssey of the Mind. He was member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he graduated from Sacred Heart School.

He is survived by parents, Frank and Mary Kiener of West Des Moines sisters, Sarah and Susie Kiener at home grandparents, Robert and Lucille Schwarze of Great Falls, VA and Edward and Betty Eland of Burlington aunt, Lana and husband Richard Butler uncles, Bob and wife Tracey Schwarze and Jay and wife Elizabeth Schwarze.

A Vigil Service will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday May 1, 2003 at Westover Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be made to Sacred Heart School or Dowling High School, Blank Children's Hospital or Ronald McDonald House of Twin Cities 621 Oak St. SE Minneapolis, MN 55414.
