Obituary

Harry L. Chestnutwood, son of Emma and Levi A. Chestnutwood was born near De Soto, Iowa on October 17, 1897. He was graduated from the Earlham high school. On October 16, 1920 he was united in marriage to Ruth A. Crawford. To this union two sons were born Harry J. and Robert T.

Harry farmed most all of his working years west of DeSoto.

He was a member of the DeSoto United Methodist church were he attended when he was able, also of the Masonic Lodge in Earlham.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Ruth in 1951. He is survived by his two sons Harry J. of rural DeSoto and Robert of Phoenix, Arizona.

Services were held at Chamberlain-Fisher Funeral Home in Adel with Rev. Walter Sieck in charge. Masonic services by Madison Lodge #568 AF & AM of Earlham. Interment was in the Earlham Cemetery. Lunch was served at the DeSoto United Methodist Church.
